'TURN YOUR CAN'TS INTO CANS AND YOUR DREAMS INTO PLANS...'
Outside the Box is unique one week intensive programme for a collective of professionally trained actors who are also directors/writers/producers... or who would like to be! Thinking and stepping outside the box...
You're an actor. But perhaps you are an actor/writer? An actor/director? An actor/producer? An actor/director/writer/producer? At Directors Cut we encourage artists not to put themselves into boxes. We like the word 'theatre maker' and although we know you love your feet planted on the stage, otherwise known as 'the black box', if you have an interest or a skill in other art forms then we encourage you to embrace them, to take ownership of them, to step Outside The Box and widen and explore all of your artistic talents.
Have an idea for a project? A desire to perform as well as be a part of the creative process? Outside the Box offers professional actors an opportunity to learn other mediums in theatre and advice and guidance on how to put these into place to make their own ideas a reality.
Outside The Box will run for six consecutive days and concludes with a showcase performance for each artist.
WORKSHOPS TO WIDEN ACTORS TOOLS AND EXPLORE THEIR ARTISTIC TALENTS
Being a part of Outside The Box means you will receive workshops on:

DIRECTING - Develop your understanding and skills as a director.
PRODUCING - Gain knowledge and insight on how to produce your own work.
ACTING - Refresh and enhance your actors tool kit.

BESPOKE GUIDANCE FOR ACTORS TO MAKE AND INSTIGATE THEIR OWN PROJECTS
At Outside The Box we are interested in you - your ideas, aspirations and goals. You will get the opportunity to share your ideas and receive bespoke feedback, support and guidance. You will use the knowledge you learn from our workshops, you will decide your own next steps in being the curator of your vision.
BE A PART OF A COLLECTIVE, INSPIRE AND CONNECT WITH OTHER THEATRE MAKERS
Share your ideas, and be inspired by and work with other creatives. Being a part of Outside of The Box means you will become part of a growing collective who are all striving forward and working towards something. This will be a support network like no other. You will be kept up to date with each others projects and opportunities for collaboration. You will be challenged, encouraged and motivated to help each other to achieve your goals. The collective will be encouraged to assist each other in various ways where needed (whether that be act, direct, produce, stage manage etc) on yours and others projects within the collective that also inspire you. Our job, and the collectives job is to make sure that you make sure it happens!
