The Actor's Club
the only club for professional actors
NEXT TERMS STARTS IN SEPTEMBER - ENQUIRE NOW!
Fortnightly on Wednesdays 3pm - 5pm or
7pm -9pm in theatres across London.
The Actor's Club is a club like no other, where professional actors can connect with their peers, to refine and develop their skills, be supported and inspired.
Be a part of a strong network
In a competitive industry where rejection is common it can be hard for artists to keep spirits and confidence high and to find a time and place to regularly practice their craft. The Actor's Club is designed to provide just that - a support network of actors who come together regularly to develop and utilise their skills amongst other talented artists.
Training from professional DIRECTORS
The Actors Club will consist of fortnightly workshops on Wednesdays 3-5pm or 7-9pm in London. Every week will be different, full of creativity and imagination. Workshops are run by Artistic Director Heather Ward and other professional directors and practitioners within the industry, who are hired to run workshops on specific skills such as stage combat, voice work, movement, audition prep etc. The Actor's Club is a club for practical work - where experimentation, ideas and new techniques are tried and tested.
Actors will also get the opportunity to work with members of The Directors Club; the theatre makers of the future. It is a fantastic opportunity for actors to become a part of a growing community, to enhance their career development and expand their creative network. Actors who have previously performed in The Directors Club Showcase have built connections with directors which have led to paid work on other theatrical projects.
REHEARSED READINGS WITH THE WRITERS CLUB
Actors within The Actor's Club will get the opportunity to perform in rehearsed readings in Write to Right and work with writers from The Writers Club trying out new material and being an integral part in the creation of new work in its early stages of development.
FREE REHEARSAL SPACE TO WORKSHOP A SCRIPT, PROJECT OR IDEA
We encourage artists within our artistic community to connect and work together. We offer out one day of rehearsal space a week to our community, which is free for our members, at theatres across London such as Royal Stratford East, Southwark Playhouse and Pleasance Theatre for writers, directors and actors to workshop a script, project or idea with other members of the community.
WORK WITH BESPOKE SCRIPTS WRITTEN FOR YOU BY THE WRITERS CLUB
We partner writers with actors to write bespoke monologues and short scenes for the actors they are matched with. This gives actors the opportunity to put forward ideas and work on scripts suited to their casting. Collaborations formed in this way often inspire and spark new ideas for projects and lead to future collaborations.
PERFORM IN THE DIRECTOR'S CLUB SHOWCASE AT SOUTHWARK PLAYHOUSE
Actors in The Actors Club will get priority casting opportunities to perform in The Directors Club Showcase at Southwark Playhouse.
NEW FOR AUTUMN TERM
Next term we will also be launching The Hub, a creative sharing platform, a space to share and build resources, and creations, advertise shows, read community newsletters and where our members will automatically have access to an online directory of all our club members in order to know who is in the other clubs and have ability to contact them.
Criteria: Actors must be professionally trained or have professional credits. Actors can apply for membership and if successful will be invited to audition. In order for actors to get the most out of being a member of The Actor's Club we feel it is important for the level of talent to be high. Membership is £100 per term (4 months).
